Pinupbounding 101

What is Pinupbounding?

It all began with a mouse. Well, not quite - but that felt like a good place to start. Back in the early 2010’s Disney fans were looking for a way to pay homage to their favourite characters without breaking the Magic Kingdom’s strict “No Adults in Costumes” rule. So the art of Disneybounding was born! Taking your favourite character, giving them a fashionable makeover and you the opportunity to flex your creative strength.

This is all well and good, but what if your favourite character isn’t from Disney? And what if your fashion style of choice is vintage and proud? That’s where Pinupbounding steps in!

Take your favourite pop culture character, add a healthy dose of imagination and start playing with colour in perfectly Pinup Gal way!

Like B&C Beauty Kitten Von Mew! She grabbed her favourite Bow and Crossbones pieces and headed to the Happiest Place on Earth to bound as anything her heart desired.

@kittenvonmew's looks based on Belle, Ariel and Coco

To make spinning your own fairytale EVEN easier - the girls at B&C HQ put our heads together and came up with a whole collection of the best selection of 1940s and 1950s style jewellery. The sets have been colour blocked to match each character inspiration and bundled into perfect retro fairytale princess packages for a value price.

Let's be honest these sets are just lovely to wear everyday but we thought we'd give you a few ideas on how to style them into pinup babes!

First up, using our Steamboat Mice set we've started with this gorgeous Red Polka Dot dress from Vivien of Holloway. Then added this sweet cardigan from Hellbunny. Of course, Minnie wouldn't be complete without some fabulous footwear! So we chose these fantastic yellow heels from Tigermilly. Just throw on your favourite set of mouse ears and you're good to go!

Then, using our Treasures Untold reproduction jewellery set we pay homage to Princess Ariel! For this look we've teamed together this beautiful Lilac work shirt from Freddies of Pinewood with Vivien of Holloway's glorious Purple Pedal Pushers and lush Jenny Cardigan in Teal. To finish those fins we've added Rocket Originals' brilliant Vera shoes in Red Leather!

Finally, we have our Princess Tiana inspired Fairytale Bayou! She's already a pretty stylish gal but we though we'd give her that pinup push by putting together this stunning Green Swing Dress by Lindybop and boosting it using one of Vivien of Holloway's petticoats in Sunflower Yellow. To complete the look we've given her a stylish made-to-order headband from Sarahsdoowopdos and some gorgeous gold heels by Collectif!

So how would you style these and the other sets from our Pinupbounding Collection? Let's see you Spin Your Own Fairytale!
